Independence Main Street Jeep Jam
Jeep Jam
Make Independence your road-trip destination on Saturday, Sept. 12, as Independence Main Street hosts its first-ever Jeep Jam in Downtown Independence. Jeep owners, families, visitors and anyone looking for a fun Saturday in Southeast Kansas are invited to enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with Jeeps, live music, shopping, food and plenty of duck-themed fun. Best of all, you don’t need a Jeep to join the Jam!
Jeep owners can take part in a casual Jeep Park & Shine along the 100 Block of North Penn Avenue. Unlike a traditional car show, participants are welcome to park their Jeeps, explore downtown and come and go throughout the day. Jeep owners can also show off their creativity during the Spare Flair Contest by decorating the spare tire on the back of their Jeep. Registration begins at 2 p.m. at the Main Street information table in the Community National Bank & Trust parking lot. Visitors can also purchase ducks for the Duck Drop and see if their lucky duck takes home a prize.
The fun continues at 7 p.m. with live music from Robbi Bell & Predator Country, performing until 10 p.m. The concert is open to everyone, whether they arrive in a Jeep or not. Visitors are encouraged to make a full day of their trip to Independence by exploring downtown shops, grabbing a bite to eat, enjoying a drink, checking out the Jeeps and then bringing a chair to settle in for an evening of live music.
Jeep Jam takes place Saturday, Sept. 12, in Downtown Independence. The Main Street information table opens at 2 p.m., with live music from 7 to 10 p.m. Load up the Jeep, or whatever you drive, grab some friends and make a day of exploring Independence!
