The Ambassadors are the “key club” for the Chamber. They conduct year-round membership recruitment, assist in retention activities, attend ribbon cuttings, assists in several Chamber events. Regular meetings are once a month at noon. If this committee is full, we will keep your name on file.
Annual Meeting/Banquet Committee
The Annual Meeting/Banquet committee assists the Ambassadors and the Chamber in organizing and setting up for the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting, held every 4th Tuesday of January. The committee meets several times the latter part of the year.
The Budget/Finance committee meets in October or November to assist the Chamber in preparing for the next year’s budget. The committee will meet during the year if there is a need.
Community Pride Committee
The Community Pride committee exists to enhance the positive image of Independence as an attractive, caring, progressive community; to spread community spirit and pride in our city.
The Folding/Stuffing committee consists of mainly retired, but active, Chamber members that assist the office staff with bulk mailings. They have also assisted the Operation Thank You Committee.
FYI Luncheon Committee
The FYI Luncheon committee plans three to four membership luncheons covering community and Chamber issues and activities. The committee meets approximately 4 times a year and assist at the luncheons.
The Golf committee plans three to four membership luncheons covering community and Chamber issues and activities. The committee meets approximately 4 times a year and assist at the luncheons.
Operation Thank You Committee
The Operation Thank You committee assists the Ambassadors with contacting the Chamber members personally, expressing appreciation for them membership and gaining input from them.
The Tourism committee will assist the Tourism Director in making Independence a tourist destination.
